What is it and how to create one for your website?

Creating a website is difficult. But do you know what is even more difficult? Creation of content for the website. 🙂

No matter how good you are at creating content, posting new and relevant content every day is a painstaking process. We feel you totally, absolutely.

So should you close your website when you can’t think of anything new to post? Of course not.

As they say, there is a solution to every problem. In this case, the solution is: embed RSS feeds or, to be more precise, embed RSS news feeds on your website.

That’s quite a bit of technical verbiage, we know. So let’s get into the ‘what, why and how’.

First of all, what are RSS news feeds?

First things first, RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication”. Yes, we know … it’s not very exciting. But, let’s understand better with an example:

Let’s say you have a favorite news website and you follow it religiously.

To find out if that website has published any new news articles, you will manually visit the website or subscribe to its e-newsletter. Correct?

This is absolutely the right thing to do if you only follow one or two news websites. But, if the number is six, ten or more, manually visiting each website or subscribing to their newsletters will not be easy.

Pay in: RSS news feeds.

Instead of visiting 10 different news websites every day, you can simply subscribe to their RSS feeds, also known as RSS news feeds. These feeds allow you to effortlessly collect and receive news updates of interest to you.

All you need to do is subscribe to them, and then every bite of every news website that interests you will be sent directly to you. Well, not exactly directly, but through an RSS reader.

Now what is an RSS reader?

In simple words, you tell an RSS reader which RSS feeds you want to follow, and it will collect and display all the content that those sites generate. You can open the RSS reader to see all your new content in one place.

RSS readers generally allow you to read all the content on your favorite websites. However, there is a cool RSS reader that even lets you embed that content on your website.

We are talking about elink.io – a tool that allows you to embed the content of RSS feeds on your website. Yes, that means you can embed custom RSS news content on your own website.
