The Genshin Impact The reveal 2.0 livestream took place not too long ago, and it provided plenty of details on what fans can expect to see in the July 21 update. This is a big one that adds a ton of new content, so here’s a rundown of everything we know so far about what’s coming in Genshin Impact 2.0.
New Region: Inazuma
What’s new in Genshin Impact 2.0
Players have spent hours and hours in Mondstadt, the city of freedom, and Liyue, the city of contracts. Genshin Impact 2.0 now adds Inazuma, the nation of eternity.
Inazuma is an area that is made up of six main islands and a few scattered islets, all surrounded by water on all sides. It’s a region often clouded by thunderstorms and high winds, but it’s still full of landmarks like the Narukami Grand Shrine and Sakura Sakura, and the Tenshukaku where the Shogun resides (pictured above).
Unsurprisingly, there are also a number of secrets to find along Inazuma’s war-torn coastline and also within its underground ruins. And unlike previous regions, Inazuma puzzles don’t require you to have characters with certain powers in your party to complete them.
Playable Characters: Ayaka, Yoimiya and Sayu
What’s new in Genshin Impact 2.0

This wouldn’t be a major Genshin update without the addition of some new playable characters. Genshin Impact 2.0 is adding Kamisato Ayaka, Yoimiya, and Sayu.
Ayaka is the daughter of the Yashiro Commission’s Kamisato Clan and is a five-star cryogenic sword user who works for the Shogun. Yoimiya is a five-star Pyro archer and fireworks expert, earning herself the nickname of Queen of the Summer Festival. Lastly, Sayu is a four-star ninja and Claymore user who uses Anemo’s power to wield giant weapons.
Like the previous characters, you will meet this trio through the natural progression of the story as you complete new tasks. The three residents of Inazuma will debut in Archon’s upcoming missions for the new region. The Electro Archon Baal, along with a few others, is expected to be officially revealed as playable characters in the future as well.
Enemies of Inazuma
What’s new in Genshin Impact 2.0

With the new playable characters come new threats to use them against. Genshin Impact 2.0 is adding many new enemies to accompany the new region. These enemies include a Pyro Hypostasis, the Perpetual Mechanical Array, a wandering samurai, and an entirely new branch of the Fatui.
Veteran players should have an idea of what to expect with the new hypostasis, but the other enemies listed above should be a bit more unpredictable. The Perpetual Mechanical Array, along with a few other deadly machines, share similarities with the Ruin Guards found in Mondstadt and Liyue. And as you may have guessed, the samurai and Fatui will attack you with various elemental attacks.
Maguu Kenki will also return, but this time as world boss. This fight with Inazuma’s boss will provide materials to level up the characters for your endeavors.
Weapons and artifacts
What’s new in Genshin Impact 2.0

Genshin Impact 2.0 will not allow you to fight the aforementioned enemies with old gear. New weapons and artifacts are being added and all fit the theme of the Inazuma region covered in thunderstorms.
The reveal stream 2.0 revealed a variety of weapons including a five-star bow named Thundering Pulse and a five-star sword named Mistsplitter Reforged. These come alongside the Hamayumi Bow, Amenoma Kageuchi Sword, Kitain Cross Spear, Katsuragikiri Nagamasa Claymore, and Hakushin Ring Catalyst, which are four-star weapons.
As for the artifacts, two new sets were shown, as you can see above. The Emblem of Severed Fate set provides Energy Reload for two pieces and increased Elemental Blast damage for four pieces. Shimenawa’s Reminiscence set grants two-piece ATK boost and Normal / Charged / Sunk attack damage boost at the cost of Energy.
Summary of events

New events are another long-awaited addition when Genshin updates arrive. The reveal stream 2.0 details five events to come with this update: Thunder Sojourn, Stage of Wonders, Phantom Flow, Ley Line Overflow, and Lost Riches.
Thunder Sojourn is a four-part event that will award players a free Beidou as they explore Inazuma and defeat various enemies. Stage of Wonders brings back Liyue’s Theater Mechanicus event with some twists from Inazuma. Phantom Flow has players take on challenges on different difficulties to obtain Primogems, level-up materials, and more.
Ley Line Overflow causes Ley Lines to provide twice the usual rewards for the regular amount of Resin up to three times a day. And finally, Lost Riches is another replay event that will give players a chance to earn a number of Mini Seelies.
Serenitea Pot Update
What’s new in Genshin Impact 2.0

The Serenitea Pot feature was introduced not too long ago and is getting an update in Genshin Impact 2.0 with a landscaping update.
Players will be able to use a new seed dispenser container given to them by Madame Ping to grow plants and make their Serenitea Pot feel a little more like home.
Sowing seeds from the seed dispensary in the appropriate fields inside the Serenitea pot will allow the fully grown plants to be harvested after a certain time has passed.
Cross saves
What’s new in Genshin Impact 2.0

Cross saves are a feature that fans have been wondering about for some time now. MiHoYo accounts can already be connected between the PC and the mobile version of the game, but Genshin Impact 2.0 also brings that function to PlayStation.
Players will be able to share game saves and MiHoYo accounts on PC, PlayStation, iOS and Android devices for the first time. This means that characters, items, and the like must be shared across all platforms.
Not much information has been provided at this point outside of confirmation, but it has been said that more details will come to explain exactly how cross saves will work once the update goes live.
PlayStation updates

Some updates are coming for PlayStation players in the Genshin Impact 2.0 update in late July. In terms of visuals, character shading has been improved to show better shadow and lighting effects on characters. Colors and shadows should change and move more dynamically.
On the gaming side, more haptic feedback features are also being added for the PS5 DualSense. You’ll feel subtle vibrations in the controller as you pull a bow, run through plants in the forest, glide through the air, and more.
