And why did they shoot him?
We were told that there was an investigation into the matter, and then no charges were brought, however we do not know the details of said report beyond this very generic material from the Justice Department:
Ms. Babbitt was among a crowd of people who entered the Capitol building and gained access to a hallway outside the “President’s Lobby,” which leads to the House of the United States House of Representatives. At the time, the USCP was evacuating members of the Chamber, which the mob was trying to enter through multiple doors. USCP officers used furniture to barricade a set of glass doors that separated the hallway and the speakers ‘lobby to try to prevent mobs from entering the speakers’ lobby and chamber, and three officers stood between the doors and the mob. Members of the mob tried to break through the doors by hitting them and breaking the glass with their hands, flag poles, helmets and other objects. Eventually the three USCP officers stationed outside the gates were forced to evacuate. As members of the mob continued to pound on the glass doors, Ms. Babbitt attempted to climb through one of the doors where the glass was broken. An officer within the Spokesman’s Lobby fired a bullet from his service pistol, hitting Ms. Babbitt in the left shoulder, causing her to fall backward from the door and fall to the ground. A USCP emergency response team, which had started heading down the hall to try to subdue the mob, administered aid to Ms Babbitt, who was transported to the Washington Hospital Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
You will notice that there is no mention of a verbal warning to Ms. Babbitt or other efforts to subdue her without the use of deadly force.

Additionally, many have questions about Ashli Babbitt’s real body after a video surfaced of her family allegedly “putting her to rest.” A body could not be seen in the video.
Many people started asking where Ashli’s body was after Meaww posted a story asking, “Where is your body?” the 10th of January.
Four days after his death, people can’t help but wonder where his body is currently. There appear to be no reports other than the fact that his death is currently being investigated. The Justice Department is opening an investigation into the shooting. Michael Sherwin, the acting US attorney for the District of Columbia, told CBS News that his office has opened a formal federal investigation into excessive force. The investigation will be handled by the office’s civil rights division.
Now, it turns out that Judicial Watch uncovered a request from the DC medical examiner, requesting that Ashli Babbitt be cremated just two days after her death.
Bizpacreview.com reported that the Washington, DC Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) allegedly filed a request to incinerate the late January 6 troublemaker Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran, just two days after his death.
This and other findings were uncovered in more than 1,100 pages of OCME documents obtained by the conservative watchdog group. Judicial surveillance through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed in April.
Documents obtained by Judicial Watch show that on January 8, two days after the January 6 riot, OCME made a submission via the “OCME Online Permit” application form for “cremation”.
Furthermore, the documents state that this “transaction was completed successfully”.
Here is a copy of that document:
At this point, it is unclear if that last entry meant the application or cremation was successful.
And that’s what people still wonder to this day: Was she cremated?
Was this something the family asked the medical examiner or was it done without the family’s knowledge?
Is the family okay with this, or are they being pressured in some way not to say anything about how Ashli’s corpse was handled?
It seems strange for a coroner to request that so quickly after such a controversial death, and it’s also strange for a family to request it so quickly for exactly the same reasons, because from what we’ve gotten from the family, they believe Ashli was unfairly murdered.
Bizpac’s piece goes on to highlight the strange amount of secrecy surrounding Ashli’s murder.
“The continued secrecy and late release of information about Ashli Babbitt’s shooting death is suspicious and smacks of politics,” Judicial Watch Chairman Tom Fitton said in a statement to Just The News.
“That Americans still do not have information on who killed her or any police report on her death is a scandal of epic proportions,” he added.
Coinciding with Judicial Watch’s findings, they also show that top OCME officials sought to restrict access to information on the Babbitt case.
“Due to the high-profile nature of case 21-00106, Dr. Díaz has requested limited access to this case. Create a secure folder on the photo server for case 21-00106 and provide access only to the following OCME personnel: Dr. Mitchell, Dr. Diaz, Anna Francis, Matthew Brow, ”wrote forensic photographer Matthew Brown on January 7 . Email several of your OCME colleagues.
Dr. Díaz was a reference to the deputy forensic medical director of the OCME, Francisco Díaz. He’s the one who examined the body.
