Finally, some common sense and science

Finally a sign of common sense and use of science. The UK has reportedly banned COVID injections for children under the age of 16.

Bloomberg reports the following related to COVID vaccines in the EU.

European Union health authorities said there is no urgent need for widespread use of Covid-19 booster shots, although people with weakened immune systems should be offered a third dose.

TRENDS: New text messages reveal that the 2nd Battalion 1st Marines were given a “countdown” before the bombing at the Kabul airport – started at approximately two hours – they are now being silenced.

The priority now should be to vaccinate about a third of European adults who are not fully vaccinated, the European Medicines Agency said Thursday, quoting a report from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control. Older and frail people, particularly those in nursing homes, could also receive an additional dose, the agency said.

A report from BBC Notes:

The UK vaccine advisory body has refused to give the green light to vaccinate healthy 12-15 year olds just for health reasons.

The JCVI said children were at such a low risk of contracting the virus that needle sticks would offer only a marginal benefit.

Now the four UK medical directors have been asked to have the final say and to consider the broader impact on schools and society.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid said a decision would be made shortly.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization recommended expanding the existing vaccine program to include 200,000 more adolescents with specific underlying diseases.

Doctors identified that children with chronic diseases of the heart, lungs and liver had a much higher risk of contracting Covid than healthy children.
