Sterile indeed | Powerline

I am a regular reader of Barron’s Magazine, because it’s one of the best financial publications out there, although they’ve been wobbling a bit lately on climate change and other corporate issues.

But then this Barren Magazine, a little literary magazine I’ve never heard of that specializes in what it calls “introspective enlightenment.” Their “About” page assures them that they are on the side of the true and the good:

We are a safe space that embraces the beauty of the human condition and celebrates diversity, inclusion, and equality. We in Barren Magazine We do not tolerate any form of racism, bigotry, sexism, harassment, political extremism, religious exclusion, or abuse of any kind by our readers, contributors, or volunteers.

How brave of you to make this statement. I’m sure they worked hard to create something so original and fresh.

Anyway, her poetry editor, a young woman named Danielle Rose, posted this tweet a couple of days ago:

And you will never guess what happened next! Actually, of course, you know what happened next:

Well I can certainly say that Barren Magazine he has chosen an appropriate name for himself.

PS: if you are curious, the comment thread in Rose’s tweet it’s something to behold, because you can’t tell what is real and what is funny satire.

PPS Should Power Line start a poetry section? Asking for Scott. . .
